Comparative Study of Electoral Systems
CES 1997 is affiliated with the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES) project. The inclusion of the CSES question battery will enable researchers to examine voting behaviour in a comparative fashion and to assess the impact of system-level characteristics on the vote. Designed by an international team, the CSES questions measure satisfaction with democracy, contact with elected representatives, attitudes toward the parties and party leaders, and ideological self-placements and party placements.
